Message From The Principal

Jodi ContentoMy name is Jodi Conteno  and I have been in education for over 22 years. I have also had the honor and privilege to be a  part of PS 78 since the year it was founded in 2012.

The students have always been at the center of my work as I have been committed  to helping all students believe in themselves and reach their potential so they will be ready for college and careers. I am beyond dedicated to the overall achievement as well as the social and emotional well-being of each student at Public School 78 regardless of their race, home life circumstances. I have a passion for teaching and learning and improving outcomes.  I believe that all students can learn and thrive  when given the necessary and appropriate tools and resources.  Building relationships with staff, students, students, families, and the larger Staten Island community will lead our community to success and healing. As a leader I take pride in continuous learning, self reflection  and growth. I am looking forward to future community projects and improving our school community by implementing restorative practices and trauma aware-informed trauma resiliency practices and enhanced professional development.
