Message From The Principal
My name is Jodi Contento and I have been in education for over 24 years. I have also had the honor and privilege to be a founding teacher at PS 78 since the year it was founded in 2012.
The students have always been at the center of my work as I have been committed to helping all students believe in themselves and reach their potential so they will be ready for college and careers. I am beyond dedicated to the overall achievement as well as the social and emotional well-being of each student at Public School 78 regardless of their race, or home life circumstances. I have a passion for teaching learning, improving outcomes, and watching students reach their highest potential. I believe that all students can learn and thrive when given the necessary and appropriate tools and resources. Building relationships with staff, students, students, families, and the larger Staten Island community will lead our community to success and healing. As a leader, I take pride in continuous learning, self-reflection, and growth. I am looking forward to future community projects and improving our school community by implementing restorative practices and peer mediation to foster a school climate where all students feel safe, valued, and supported.
